Austerity

The French never take it lying down, the Americans usually take it lying down but the Brits, one can never tell... there again certain things will definitely get some of us into the streets; 80s Privatization, The Poll Tax, The Criminal Justice Act and seemingly recent Austerity measures.

Tory HQ in London was occupied last week. We'll be seeing a lot more of this in the coming months. Things have to get worse before they can get better. Shit has to fall apart for something meaningful to be re-built out of its ruins. Are we getting closer to that point? Who can really continue to deny that our current economic and social structures are bankrupt on all fronts?

Meanwhile, I'll get excited for five minutes and then wonder how I'm going to afford a new Iphone or start day-dreaming about waves...

ROOFTOP OCCUPIERS STATEMENT:
"We oppose all cuts and we stand in solidarity with public sector workers, and all poor, disabled, elderly and working people. We are occupying the roof in opposition to the marketisation of education pushed through by the coalition government, and the system they are pushing through of helping the rich and attacking the poor. We call for direct action to oppose these cuts. This is only the beginning of the resistance to the destruction of our education system and public services."
