Yvon Le Caer: Divinely Foolish

Yvon Le Caer was an aqua-cyclist. I know very little about him but these photos impressed me. And then I had to sit back and wonder, why on earth did a Frenchman cycling across the ocean in selfish pursuit of a pointless goal, bring a smile to my face when the rest of the world is in utter chaos? And why do I feel a kinship with him? A letter sent to Le Caer by an American fan explains why. Yvon Le Caer, another clown to add to the list- we need 'em... OK back to the grind- utter chaos at work today... Ride on Yvon...

The world is a better place to live in because it contains people who will give up ease and security to do what they themselves believe worth doing. They do the useless, brave, noble, the divinely foolish and the very wisest things that are done by man. And what they prove to themselves and to others is that man is no mere creature of his habits, no mere automaton in his routine, but that in the dust in which he is made, there is also fire lighted now and then by great winds from the sky."
